PURPOSE: A novel paint composition that is made by adding a vegetable oil, a phthalic acid resin and tricyclodecene or its derivative at a specific ratio, thus permitting thick coating with one application and showing good appearance of films and high corrosion resistance, because of no unsatisfactory drying inside the coated films and no wrinkles on the surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprises (A) 60W99.9, preferably 80W98wt% of vegetable oil, preferably linseed oil, soybean oil or china wood oil and/or a phthalic resin, preferably with an oil length of 40W80% and less than 25wt% phthalic anhydride content and (B) 40W0.1, preferably 20W2wt% of tricyclodecene or its derivative such as a compound of formulaIor II (R is residue of polyhydric alcohol; R1 is residue of carboxylic acid). When necessary, 1W500pts.wt. of one or more pigments selected from oxyacid salts and metallic lead and lead oxides are added to 100pts.wt. of the composition.
EFFECT: Coating operability is good and the surface treatment is simple.
