To prevent the formation of a paint film on the liq. surface in a recovery tank due to the drying in the night or on the closure days and the drying and sticking of paint mist and paint.
A closing device is provided to close a space 14 in which blind baffles 11 and 12 and a recovery tank 13 are arranged. The blind baffles 11 and 12 are completely sunk in the paint in the recovery tank 13 in the night or on such closure days as holidays. At this time, the closing members 21a and 21b of the closing device 20 are pulled out of the closing main bodies 20a1 and 20b1 on one side, and the ends are detained by the main bodies 20a2 and 20b2 on the other side to close the space 14. As a result, the generation of an air current is prevented in the space 14, in which the blind baffles 11 and 12 and recovery vessel 13 are arranged, is suppressed, and drying is prevented. Further, the vaporization of the water in the paint in the recovery tank 13 is obviated, and hence a paint film is never formed on the liq. surface in the recovery tank 13.
