Abstract:
To provide a coating repair article and a coating repair method, with which characteristics of multi-layer coating, such as candy coating, can be easily maintained, even in the case of repair coating, by stably facilitating alignment of a bright material of a repairing metallic base coating material.SOLUTION: In order to repair coating of a defective part 17 inside a coated article 10 which comprises a metallic base layer 14 and a coloring base layer 15, a coating material for a repairing undercoat coating film 31 is coated, and subsequent to this coating, a coating material for a repairing metallic base coating film 32 is coated, onto a surface 16b of the coated article. The repairing undercoat coating material and the repairing metallic base coating material respectively contain a solvent of the same polarity. Before a solvent portion of a repairing undercoat coating film of low viscosity volatilizes, a repairing metallic base coating material of high viscosity is coated, so that the solvent portion of the undercoat coating film can be taken in, and thereby a bright material can be stably aligned even with a metallic base coating material of high viscosity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
