PURPOSE: To permit simultaneous and parallel coating of plural paints by providing partition plates to the front of a concaved blade to maintain the specified spacing from the surface to be coated at the time of relatively moving said blade with respect to the surface to be coated and coating the paints on its front surface.

CONSTITUTION: Partition plates 6, 6a are mounted at right angle to the front surface of a blade 2. Now, paints of, e.g., different colors, are placed on the both sides of the partition plates 6 and the blade 2 is relatively moved between the smooth surface 1 to be coated and the blade so as to move in the arrow direction. Then, different colors are coated on the both beltlike areas sandwiching and adjacently to the partition plates by the thickness of the clearance between a recess 5 and the smooth surface. The paints on the both sides are so scraped into the blade width as not to ooze to outside the course of the blade by tapered surfaces 13.
