Abstract:

To provide a production method of a modified nucleoside or nucleotide using a palladium catalyst, a nucleophile and carbon monoxide.

The production method of the modified nucleoside comprises a step of reacting a nucleoside starting material having a leaving group bound to a carbon atom in the nucleoside starting material with the nucleophile and carbon monoxide in the presence of the palladium catalyst and subsequently isolating the modified nucleoside.
