To efficiently replace an empty pallet occurring on a picking shelf by a real pallet.
A truck provided with a pallet transferring fork travels along a picking shelf. A pallet is journalled on a pallet loading frame 22 transversely linked with a column of the picking shelf, and a given space is secured under the frame. The pallet transferring fork has an upper fork 24 and a lower fork 25. The pallet transferring fork can be lifted up and down in relation to the truck, and can be moved back and forth in relation to the picking shelf. An interval between the upper fork 24 and the lower fork 25 is more than the sum of the height of the pallet loading frame 22 of the picking shelf and the height of the pallet. Therefore, the upper fork 24 and the lower fork 25, in the state that they respectively journal pallets, can intrude the pallet journalled by the upper fork 24 above the pallet loading frame 22, and can intrude the pallet journalled by the lower fork 25 under the pallet loading frame 22.
