To provide a pan type charcoal cooking appliance having a high economic property in which a charcoal burning cooking with ''Bicho-Tan (charcoal produced at the district of Bicho) being a representative fuel where a normal home or a restaurant having no professional facility can not carry out can be performed in rapid, convenient and neat manner.
White charcoals 3 producing a high ignition temperature are used. Some cut charcoals 3 are put into a main body 1 of a pan-shaped cooking appliance. A metallic net 2 for use in putting an item to be burned is placed on the charcoals 3. Its bottom part is applied as one for arranging a metallic net 4 for mounting the charcoals 3 and for making holes. It is designed to provide such a structure as one in which the holes 5 at the bottom part of the main body and holes in the metallic net 4 for use in mounting charcoals are displaced from each other in order to prevent charcoals from being ignited, thereby the flame is shut off to prevent a temperature at the charcoals from being increased. Charcoals are not used as fuel, but as a heat source, the heat source other than the existing charcoals is utilized.
