Abstract:
To improve the antifogging effect, rainy weather view security, self- cleaning effect and readily cleaning effect of a pane base material by forming a transparent photocatalytic oxide particle-contg. layer on the surface of the pane base material.
First, the surface of a pane base material is coated with a coating liquid containing transparent photocatalytic oxide particles and, according as necessary, silica or silicone, followed by baking to form a layer ≤0.4μm thick on the surface. Thereafter, the layer is irradiated with exciting light at an illuminance of ≥0.001mW/cm2 to effect photoexcitation of the photocatalyst and hydrophilicize the surface of the layer, leading to uniformly spreading the condensed water and/or water droplets derived from moisture adhering to the surface of the layer, thus preventing the pane base material from fogging or clouding.
