To prevent a panic state in a vehicle by providing an engaging pin which is engaged with an oblong hole formed in an open lever making a ratchet lever rotate and detachably fitted to an engaging recess of a ratchet lever, in a panic prevention piece elastically always urged to the engaging direction and rotatably at the front end of a link.
When lock levers 9, 14 are rotated to an unlock position, the shaft 16 of a link 15 is raised up to the unlock position. In this time, when an open lever 23 is manipulated to open a door at the same time and an engaging pin 22 is advanced to an entrance wall 31 through an oblong hole 24 of the open lever 23, the lock levers 9, 14 are also rotated to the unlock position. Even when the engaging pin 22 of a panic prevention piece 18 collides with the entrance wall 31, the panic prevention piece 18 is opened around the shaft 17 by the spring 21 action and the shaft 16 is accurately moved up to the unlock position. Accordingly, when an outer handle is returned to the original position, the engaging pin 22 is engaged by the elastic force of the spring 21. Further, when the outer handle is manipulated to open the door again, the ratchet lever 26 is rotated and the door can be opened.
