To provide a pants-type absorbent item of clothing which can prevent a reduction in a surface area that covers the buttocks of a wearer by means of a buttock cover section.
A rear waist region cover section 12 having dimensions in a vertical direction Y substantially the same as the dimensions of a front panel 20, and a buttocks cover section 50 which extends below the rear waist region cover section 12 and covers at least a part of the buttocks of the wearer, are formed in a rear panel 30. A crotch panel 40 is provided with: an absorbent core 41 which extends in a front-back direction, and gasket cuff sections 70 which extend in the front-back direction along both sides of an absorbent core 41, and which comprise gasket elastic bodies 71 which can elastically contract in the front-back direction. The buttock cover section is provided with a buttock cover elastic body 51 which extends in a transverse direction. In the transverse direction, the buttock cover section and the crotch panel are in a connected state between the gasket cuff sections at both sides of the absorbent core, and are in a non-connected state in the gasket cuff sections.
