To provide a pants type disposable diaper with excellent comfort, hardly restraining movement of legs of a wearer, permitting easy change of an absorbent body, and having no risk of leakage of excrement even if a changed absorbent body is used.

The pants type disposable diaper 1 is composed of a front bodice 2, a crotch part 3 and a back bodice 6. Corresponding side edges of the front bodice 2 and the back bodice 6 are jointed to each other to form a waist opening part 10 and a pair of leg openings 12. The pull-up type disposable diaper 1 also comprises an exterior member 16, a pair of three-dimensional gathered parts 26, and the absorbent body 14. The three-dimensional gathered parts 26 are disposed at least in the crotch part 4 in the exterior member 16. The absorbent body 14 comprises an absorber 22, a top sheet 18 and a back sheet 20. The absorbent body 14 is disposed in the area between the three-dimensional gathered parts 26 in a detachable state from the exterior member 16.
