To provide a stocking that has largely improved wearing comfortableness, for example, stuffiness, surface tackiness, smoothness, dryness and the like without the adverse effect on the clearness, moderate compression, aesthetic properties and functionality of the conventional stockings, can be produced in an industrial scale.
In this stocking at least a part of the fiber constituting the stocking has the following high moisture-absorbing and -releasing organic fine particles with an average particle size of ≤5 μm on the fiber in an amount of 1-20 wt.% and the resultant stocking has the excellent wear comfortableness and satisfies the following relational expression: High moisture-absorbing and releasing exothermic organic fine particles: a polymer, for example, carboxyl groups or their metal salt are introduced into a polymer, for example, polyacrylonitrile or polyacrylic ester and cross-linked with divinylbenzene; ΔH=H1-H0>1 in % wherein H1: the coefficient of moisture absorption on the mat side at 32°C and 65% RH in the case where the high moisture- absorbing and releasing organic particles are held on the stocking fiber; H0: the coefficient of moisture absorption on the mat side at 32°C and 65% RH in the case where the high moisture-absorbing and releasing organic particles are not held on the stocking fiber.
