PURPOSE: To prevent oblique feeding, in a paper feeder for feeding various sizes of paper through plural sets of carry rollers provided in axial direction, by setting the distance between the inner ends of a pair of carry rollers slightly longer than the width of paper having specific size.

CONSTITUTION: Document carrying system in copier is provided with drive roller shafts 3W5 to be rotated while interlocking by a drive motor 9 through driving force transmitting mechanisms 10, 11 and inverted roller shafts 6W8 provided while making pair with said shafts 3W5. Plural sets of carry rollers 12aW12i are constructed with a drive roller fixed to the drive roller shaft 3 and inverted roller fixed to the inverted roller shaft 6. Here, the carry rollers 12c, 12g, 12a, 12i are arranged at suck position as the distance between the inner end faces will be slightly longer than the width of document 13 then the other carry roller is arranged at the inside of said rollers. Similar structure is also employed for the shafts 4, 5, 7, 8.
