PURPOSE: To dispense with observing discharge conditions of paper sheets so as to reduce load of an operator by forbidding operation of a machine, when the paper sheets are detected continuously for prescribed hours by a filled-up detection means which is provided in a storage means for loading and storing the paper sheets.

CONSTITUTION: A printed matter W sent in a paper discharge device 1 is loaded on the holding part 23a of a primary holding means 23 and is moved from the holding part 23a to the holding part 24a of a secondary holding means 24. Then, the frequency of the down sensor 35 changed from OFF to ON is counted and when it reaches a value corresponding to the maximum number of the printed matters W which are held by conveyance means including respective holding parts 23a, 24a, conditions of a filled-up sensor is checked. Namely, when the filled-up sensor, which is turned on for an instant when the printed matters W are dropped from the holding part 24a to a paper discharge tray 40, is kept on without being turned off and a prescribed hour elapses, it is judged that the paper discharge tray 40 is filled up so that a printing machine 2 is stopped and filled-up LED is made to light.
