PURPOSE: To obtain a paper electrode which is light-weight and is capable of obtaining sufficient dust collecting capacity, by performing a conductive surface treatment to the surface of paper having a prescribed shape, and applying the potential required for generating an electric field.
CONSTITUTION: Tongue pieces 11, 12 are provided on the right end of paper 1 having a shape matching its use, and an electric connecting tongue piece 13 deflected in the upper direction is provided on its middle part. Also, a projecting piece 14 is provided on the upper end of the paper 1, conductive processing is performed by applying an electrically-conductive painting material, etc., and is connected to a connecting tongue piece 13 by a conductive path 15. Also, a suitable number of conductive stripes 16 are provided vertically and horizontally on the surface of the paper 1, by which a negative side electrode 10 which equalizes a potential state is formed. Also, by the same method, a positive side electrode 10' in which the projecting piece 14 does not exist is formed. Dust collection is executed by combining both electrodes 10, 10', giving charge to fine particles contained in gas, and catching and collecting dust by the dust collecting electrodes 10, 10'.
