Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable even a condition where force is imparted to a retard pad while being hit on one side, to be automatically corrected in a paper handling device made up of a feed roller and of a retard member.
CONSTITUTION: A paper handing device is made up of a feed roller and of a retard roller, a holder 22 supporting a pad 2 and a spring are provided so as to be supported by a support shaft 21 penetrating through a shaft support section 23. The support shaft is penetrated through via a circular hole and oblong holes 26a which are provided for a bracket 24 at the center section and for brackets 24a and 24C at the both sides respectively with respect to the support shaft 27, so that an angle formed by the guiding direction for rocking motion by each oblong hole and the face of the pad 21, shall be set to be less than 90°. The application of one support method can impart the two degrees of freedom in axis to the retard pad. In this case, even if the pad is pressed against the roller while being hit on its one side, each paper can be uniformly pressed against the pad with the aforesaid one sided pressing corrected automatically.
