To autonomously control the feed of a continuous paper in paper passing by arranging an upstream roller and a downstream roller across a paper passing passage, and providing the downstream roller in a displaceable manner across the paper passing passage.
When the paper feed is started, a driving mechanism 3 is operated, and an upstream roller 1 and a downstream roller 2 are rotated at the same peripheral speed as the moving speed of a paper passing member WL in a direction opposite to each other. Then, a rod 44a of a hydraulic cylinder 44 is slowly expanded, an angular displacement shaft 4 is angular-displaced through an arm 41, the downstream roller 2 is brought contact with an upper surface of the continuous paper W through arms 21a, 21b, a lower surface of the continuous paper W is brought into contact with an outer circumferential surface of the upstream roller 1, and the continuous paper W is fed to the downstream side. When the continuous paper W is slackened, the slip with the downstream roller 2 is increased, and the paper feed operation is autonomously suppressed. The tension in this condition is mitigated by the displacement of the upstream roller 1 by torsion springs 11a, 11b through the arms 11a, 11b.
