Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed device in which maintenance can be performed through the entrance of a paper feed cassette.
SOLUTION: A turnable chute 9 is provided on the extreme end of a paper feed cassette 5 capable of being tilted. When the paper feed cassette 5 is fitted to or detached from a casting 24, the chute 9 can be turned between a first angle at which the chute 9 does not interfere with the inner construction of the casing 24 and a second angle at which the chute 9 becomes a guide member for paper sheets P. The chute 9 is energized on the first angle side by a spring 29, and when the paper feed cassette 5 is pushed in up to the depth in the casing 24, a fixed chute turns the chute 9 from the first angle to the second angle against the energizing force of the spring 29. At the second angle, the chute 9 acts as the guide of paper sheets and forms a passage together with the fixed chute 15, and functions as the guide of paper sheets carried from the other paper feed device.
