To provide a paper feeder which is miniaturized while effectively suppressing remaining of a jammed paper sheet within a feeder body.

The paper feeder comprises a large capacity paper feed cassette 20 which is attachable/detachable in the direction across the paper sheet conveying direction with respect to a device body 11 of an image forming device 10 and capable of storing a paper sheet bundle P1, and a paper feed mechanism 18 which delivers paper sheets one by one from the paper sheet bundle P1 stored in the large capacity paper feed cassette 20 and feeds the paper sheets to the device body 11. The large capacity paper feed cassette 20 has a width alignment guide plate 60 provided on the distal side in the direction across the paper sheet conveying direction with the paper sheet bundle P1 abutted thereon. An upper bracket 62 further extends toward the distal side from an upper edge of the width alignment guide plate 60. The upper bracket 62 has an expansion plate piece 63 protruded toward the paper sheet conveying direction with the width alignment guide plate 60 as a reference.
