A paper feed roller 20 for feeding a print sheet to the print region of a print head 1, a columnar platen 5 disposed oppositely to the print head 1, and a paper discharge roller 22 for feeding out a sheet printed by the print head 1 define a substantially linear print sheet passage. All of the paper feed roller 20, the platen 5 and the paper discharge roller 22 are arranged to be rotary driven in the paper feeding direction. Since the platen 5 has metallic surface, clearness of print can be ensured and print trouble caused by the fold of a continuous form paper can be suppressed.
