Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and to save the expense by mounting a paper feed mechanism on a travelable print section in place of hoppers, and simplifying a device structure.
SOLUTION: This paper feeder used for a printer device is constituted of multiple hoppers 2 arranged so that the feed positions of mediums are located on a straight line in the horizontal direction, guide rails 8 provided in parallel with them, a print section 1 traveled on them in the horizontal direction and capable of being stopped at the selected hopper 2, and a suction roller 7 mounted on the print section 1 to suck a medium 9 to the print section 1. The suction roller 7 extracts the medium 9 on the lowermost layer exposed to the notch 10 of the hopper 2 in contact with the hopper 2 and feeds it to the thermal head 4 of the print section 1. The printed medium 9 is discharged to the outside of the print section 1 by rollers 6. The suction roller 7 is returned to the initial state after a series of actions are completed.
