Abstract:
To accurately detect paper remaining amount with fewer errors without using members needing a complicated structure such as a pulse motor or an encoder, and manufacturing cost.
A paper feeding apparatus includes: a lifting plate on which paper is stacked; a lift motor that lifts the lifting plate; a current measuring circuit part that measures current flowing in the lift motor; and a detection processing part that calculates the amount of the current flowing in the lift motor as time passes by based on the output of the current measuring circuit part, and detects the amount of remaining paper based on the amount when the lift motor is rotated.
