Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structured and easy-to-use paper feeding apparatus capable of separating and feeding each paper sheet regardless of whether the paper sheets are single thin sheets or thick sheets which are stacked and bent.SOLUTION: A paper feeding apparatus comprises a paper feeding roller 2 and a separating member 29 which comes in pressure-contact with the paper feeding roller 2, a separation surface of the separating member 29 including a high friction part 29b and a low friction part 29a which is provided adjacent to the high friction part 29b and downstream of the high friction part 29b in a paper feeding direction. The separating member 29 is made approachable to and separable from a paper feeding roller 2, and the separation surface is tilted with respect to the approaching/separating direction. When the separation surface is in pressure-contact with the paper feeding roller 2, the high friction part 29b is included in the range of pressure-contact. When the separation surface is separated from the paper feeding roller 2 by a predetermined distance or more, a perpendicular line drawn from the center of the support shaft of the paper feeding roller 2 to the separation surface crosses the low friction part 29a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
