This device comprises a stacker 61 loading booklets including a plurality of sheets of paper, a booklets extrusion member 76 capable of pressurizing edges of the booklets loaded in the stacker 61, a drive means for moving the booklet extruding member 76 forward and backward, a control means for controlling the drive of the drive means, and a home position detection sensor arranged at one end in a movable area of the booklet extruding member and detecting an initial position of the booklet extruding member. The control means executes control to start drive to an initial direction by reversing the drive after the booklet extruding member is once moved in the other end direction of the movable area opposite to the initial position for a predetermined time, and to stop the drive when the home position detection sensor detects the booklet extruding member.
