PURPOSE: To smoothly fold paper regardless of its size in a device folding the continuous paper from a printing machine, by logitudinally moving a set of stoppers for folded end edges of the paper and arranging their moving amount different between the left and right.

CONSTITUTION: In case of large size of paper, for instance, 14 inches, a movable rack 11a is placed to "1", and a left side paper stopper 13 is located farther from a paper discharge port than a right side stopper 12, then paper 1 is contacted to the stopper 13 only in a position near a mount 3, thus folding speed can be increased because of small contact resistance. In case of small size of paper, the movable rack 11a is placed to "6", and the stopper 13 is located nearer to the paper discharge port than the stopper 12, then the paper 1 is applied with larger contact pressure to the stopper 13, thus folding speed is decreased to an adequate level.
