The paper handling device 100 includes: a printing part 4; a paper holder 5 supplying the roll paper 6 to the printing part 4; and an internal unit 3 in which the printing part 4 and the paper holder 5 are placed on a placing table 10 so that an exchange work space 8 is formed between the printing part 4 and the paper holder 5. The internal unit 3 is stored to be drawn from the paper handling device. The printing part is fixed to the placing table 10, and a slider 11 is provided to slidably hold the paper holder on the placing table 10 so that the work space between the printing part 4 and the paper holder 5 can be extended by drawing the internal unit 3.
