To provide paper handling equipment which can increase the accuracy of the operation of ejecting a binding component for performing binding.

A binding part 40 binds a bundle of a plurality of pieces of paper, aligned by a paper alignment unit 30, by means of a binding component, so as to make a booklet. The binding part 40 comprises a moving mechanism 41 and a binder cassette 42. The binding part 40 makes the binding component as a binding operation object separated in a lamination direction from another binding component and ejected from inside of the binder cassette 42. Thus, when a malfunction occurs during the action of separating and ejecting the binding component, the binder cassette 42 is detached from a binding device, so that the binding component causing the malfunction can be removed from inside of the device. This enables the binding component causing the malfunction to be easily removed on the occurrence of the malfunction during the action of separating and ejecting the binding component.
