The method for pressure dehydration of the paper machine including a tandem press section in which three step press units are arranged in tandem along a wet paper path Wr includes conveying wet paper fed from the second stage press unit 2P in a state holding the wet paper between an upper felt 12 and a lower felt 15 or in a state carrying the wet paper on the upper felt 12, transferring the wet paper to a suction roll 16 through the upper felt 12 in front of the third press unit 3P, transferring the wet paper to a non-porous roll 23 through a nip portion formed of the suction roll 16 and a rigid non-porous roll 23 constituting the third press unit 3P, and then pressure-treating the wet paper in the third press unit 3P.
