Abstract:
To securely prevent double feeding while suppressing chattering during paper feeding.
This paper feeding/separating mechanism 40 is provided with a paper feeding roller 311 of which peripheral face is pressed against and abuts on an upper surface of an uppermost paper sheet P1 at a downstream end of a paper sheet bundle P placed on an energizing plate 37 of a paper sheet cassette 31, and with a friction pad 70 arranged in a lower part opposing to the paper feeding roller 311 via the uppermost paper sheet P1. The friction pad 70 is energized toward a direction opposite to the paper carrying direction by the energizing force of a coil spring 80.
