To provide an automatic teller machine(ATM) with a means capable of reducing the replenishing frequency of new paper moneies by automatically recognizing new bills from deposited bills and replenishing the new paper moneies in an exclusive cash box, and even at the time of replenishing new paper moneies, replenishing the new paper monies without interrupting the ATM in operation.

The ATM is provided with a recognition part 5 for discriminating the counterfeit, denomination and reusability of each paper money and discriminating new wrinkleless paper money out of true paper monies, a 1st cash box 1 for shoring only new paper monies, plural 2nd cash boxes for storing usable paper monies other the new paper moneies in each denomination, and an attachable/detachable 3rd cash box 3 capable of replenishing paper moneies even during the operation of the ATM, and the means capable of discriminating the counterfeit of each paper money deposited by a customer or each paper money replenished by a clerk to discriminate new paper monies from the others, storing new paper monies in the 1st cash box 1, and storing paper monies other than the new ones in the 2nd cash box 2 and constituted so as pay out new ones by loose paper moneies when a payment request of new paper monies is outputted from a customer.
