PURPOSE: To correctly return a paper position setting plate to a standard position by driving the paper position setting plate for a prescribed time after the paper position setting plate detects a photosensor and setting the paper position setting plate at a standard position.
CONSTITUTION: When an electric power source is turned ON or a recording device is reset, paper position setting plates 5 and 6 shifting to the opposite side to a standard position 12a. After a prescribed time or after the prescribed steps drive, the paper position setting plates 5 and 6 reversely shift in the standard position 12a direction. When the standard position 12a is turned ON, the paper direction setting plates 5 and 6 stop at a standard position 1 after a prescribed time or after counting a prescribed number of steps from the above- described time point.
