PURPOSE: To reduce the space thus to reduce the size of paper stopper by setting a paper while slightly separating a paper veil roller from the platen through engagement of stopping member and stopping section.

CONSTITUTION: The arm 8 is energized by a spring 9 to rotate thus to contact the paper veil roller 10 resiliently against a platen 3. Under this condition, the stopping member 13 is energized but contacts against the contacting face 17 to be blocked from axial motion. When setting a paper, the arm 8 is lifted to separated the paper veil roller 10 from the platen 3. Here, the stopping member 13 will slide outward through the spring force to engage the projection 16 resiliently with the stopping section 18. Consequently, the paper veil roller 10 is maintained under the condition separated from the platen 3. Under this condition, the outer circumference of stopping member 13 will contact against a projection 19 while the stopper 20 will contact against the arm 8 thus to block excessive motion of arm 8.
