Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly correct distortion of paper with respect to the conveyance direction to stably convey the paper to a downstream side.SOLUTION: A paper processing apparatus comprises: a lateral alignment unit 240 which performs alignment of paper conveyed from an upstream side by pressing the paper from both ends of a width direction orthogonal to a paper conveyance direction; a registration alignment unit 270 which performs alignment of the paper by abutting a tip end of the paper conveyed from the upstream side for a predetermined period of time; a drive unit 243 for driving the lateral alignment unit 240; a drive unit 273 for driving the registration alignment unit 270; and an intermediate conveyance control unit 504 for controlling the operation of the drive unit 243 and the drive unit 273, the intermediate conveyance control unit 504 switching the operation of the drive unit 243 and the drive unit 273 depending upon a predetermined condition on the conveyed paper.
