Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper processing device capable of preventing irregularities in cutting amount due to fluctuation in load upon the cutting of a prescribed portion (small lot) of a paper bundle by means of a round blade.SOLUTION: A cutting device applied for a small lot cutting mechanism of cutting means provided on a middle stitching book-making device of a paper processing device can start the cutting from a position which avoids an edge part of a middle-stitched booklet (paper bundle) 311 placed on a paper receiving stand 403 because a moving rail 402 is moved up and down in the vertical direction when a cutting unit 401 having a round blade performs reciprocating movement in the width direction along the moving rail 402. Therein, a lifting height of the round blade of the unit 401 can be variably adjusted and set, therefore the optimum position setting of the round blade is permitted in accordance with the number of sheets of paper of the booklet 311 and, further the lifting height of the round blade is retained to such a height that the round blade is not lifted completely and is not separated from a cutting surface of the booklet 311 completely (such a state as to be brought into contact with cutting line of the booklet 311 is maintained) and, thereby irregularities in cutting amount due to fluctuation in load upon the cutting by means of the round blade can be prevented.
