PURPOSE: To limit a work of conveyance abnormality processing by an operator only to take-out of a jammed trouble paper sheet, by guiding a subsequent sheet to a second conveyance passage through switching operation of a switching means to input the paper sheet to a paper binding means when the occurrence of operation abnormality is detected on a first conveyance passage or a position situated downstream therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: A switching claw 5 which switches and guides an inputted paper sheet to first and second conveyance passages A and B, a stapler 1 to bind paper sheets conveyed through the second conveyance passage B, and a discharge tray 6 to which paper sheets discharged from the stapler 1 are discharged are provided. When the occurrence of conveyance abnormality is detected in a process where the paper sheets are conveyed through the first conveyance passage A, the switching claw 5 is switched to guide a subsequent paper sheet to the second conveyance passage B. After a work to recover conveyance abnormality occurring to the first conveyance passage A is completed, the paper sheets contained in the stapler 1 are discharged to the discharge tray 6. This constitution reduces troublesomeness of the work to recover conveyance abnormality.
