Title:
PAPER SHEET AUTHENTICITY DISCRIMINATING DEVICE USING FLUORESCENT SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3827792
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the part of a fluorescence system and to recognize only a pattern part of fluorescent ink by regards quantity groups of decided adjacent pixels which fluoresce as the same group and making a genuine decision when the number of the groups is larger than a specific number.
SOLUTION: A block dividing means 31 divides photodetection data SS3 sent from a FIFO memory 14 into blocks according to their conveyance distances and inputs data BD in the blocks to a comparing and genuine/ countefeir decision means 30. The comparing and genuine/counterfeit decision means 30 binarizes image pixel data according to whether or not there is fluorescence in individual areas divided into blocks, judges whether or not the binarized pixels are successive in plane, and regards the quantity groups of adjacent decided pixels which fluoresce as the same group to make a genuine decision when the number of the groups is larger than the specific number, thereby outputting the decision result RS.
