Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet binding device that binds paper sheets which, when an error that should stop a binding operation occurs, can easily perform restoration work from the error.SOLUTION: A paper sheet binding device 100 includes: a binding part 9 configured to have a tape holding part 921 for holding a tip end of a tape T and wind the tape on a bundle of paper sheets; a heater 95 for bonding the overlapped tapes together; a cutter 96 for cutting the tape; and a control unit for detecting occurrence of an error which should stop a binding operation of the paper sheets. When timing of detecting the error is before bonding and cutting the tape, the holding part releases the tip end of the tape being held, and a tape conveyance part 912 pulls back the tape in order to cut the middle of the tape that has been pulled out.
