PURPOSE: To permit the discharge in the correct posture by transferring a recording paper sheet which drops in contact into an opening and closing tray in opened state from a pair of tray members to a guide member, in a laser printer, etc.

CONSTITUTION: When it is confirmed that all the recording paper sheets 2 cut-separated by a cutter are piled onto an opening and closing tray 8, tray members 8a and 8b are opened downwardly in double-doors on hinge form. When the opening-degree of the opening and closing tray 8 exceeds a prescribed value, the recording paper sheet 2 which drops in the contact with the opening and closing tray 8 is transferred onto a guide member 10 from the opening and closing tray 8, and after once held by the guide member 10, the sheet gradually drops in curved form. Previously to said drop, the opening and closing tray 8 is perfectly opened, and the recording paper sheet 2 drops onto a conveyor, without contacting with the opening and closing tray 8. Thus, the paper sheet can be discharged without destroying the folded state.
