Abstract:
To provide a paper sheet feeder capable of estimating a wear state of a paper sheet conveyance roll with higher accuracy, compared with when estimating the wear state of a paper sheet conveyance roll from only a paper sheet conveyance speed.SOLUTION: A paper sheet feeder 40 comprises a paper sheet conveyance roll 406 for conveying a paper sheet along a conveyance path; drive means 408 for driving the paper sheet conveyance roll 406; detection means 414 for detecting a paper sheet conveyance speed during conveyance, that is arranged in the conveyance path; measuring means 411 for measuring a size of load applied to the drive means 408 when the paper sheet passes through the detection means 414 by rotating the paper sheet conveyance roll 406 with the drive means 408 to convey the paper sheet; and estimation means 724 for estimating a wear state of the paper sheet conveyance roll by using the paper sheet conveyance speed detected by the detection means 414, and the size of load measured by the measuring means 411.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
