PURPOSE: To make jam handling quickly performable as well as to improve the extent of operation rate by attaching an upper guide plate pivotally to a machine frame with a connecting means closably, and constituting this upper guide plate to be energized by an energizing means in the closing direction when it is opened.

CONSTITUTION: A paper sheet guide apparatus 96 is installed in space between a paper sheet mounting part and a fixing paper discharge roller, and it is constituted of an upper guide plate 101, a lower guide plate 102, a connecting means 103 and an energizing means. Then, this energizing means is constituted of an opening side link piece 117 and an energizing spring body 118 stretched across between the other end of a fixed side link piece and a receiving side upper plate 106. When a handle 119 is lifted upward by hand, both these link bodies 116, 117 is retracted against an energizing spring body 118 and opened in a dogleg form, making an interval between both these upper and lower guide plates 101 and 102 possible to be fully opened. Accordingly, when unhanding it, the upper guide plate 101 is closed at once by the energizing spring body 118, thus it is put back to the original guide passage space.
