Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To variably control the position of top face of stacked bills without separately requiring a special backup device by providing a pair of separators with a backup function.
SOLUTION: This paper sheet handling device includes: a pair of separators 55a, 55b opening and closing the top face part of an accumulating part 26, rotated in response to the accumulation of a predetermined number of bills to thereby close the top face part of the accumulating part 26, and receiving the bills after the predetermined number and on and accumulating the same; an optical displacement sensor 61 for detecting the height of the accumulated bills accumulated on the paired separators 55a, 55b; and a control part 60 for turning down the paired separators 55a, 55b by predetermined angle each every time a predetermined height of accumulation is detected by the optical displacement sensor 61, thereby lowering the accumulated bills to position the top face in a predetermined position.
