Different front-rear identification information is given to the front face and rear face of the partition card 41, and the same card identification information is given to both faces. A plurality of batches of media P to be processed, each batch of which has paper sheets stacked in work units and partition cards 41 arranged on the stacked paper sheets are stacked and supplied as a set of processing unit into the paper sheet processing device 1. In the paper sheet processing device 1, the supplied media P to be processed are fed sheet by sheet, and the fed paper sheets are counted and stacked. As the partition card 41 is fed, the front-rear identification information and card identification information given to the partition card 41 are detected. The detected front-rear identification information and card identification information of the partition card 41 and the count information of the counted paper sheets are associated and transmitted to a tabulating device 2. The tabulating device 2 stores the received data.
