PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive paper sheet residual quantity detecting device which is simply constituted and capable of accurate detection of the paper sheets residual quantity.
CONSTITUTION: A paper sheets weight detecting piece 35 is rotatable around a shaft part 37 in a paper sheets feeding direction guide member 34. The paper sheets weight detecting piece 35 is incorporated in the paper sheets feeding direction guide member 34. A loading part 35a of the paper sheets weight detecting piece 35 is energized upward by the elastic force of a spring 38. An operating part 35a of the paper sheets weight detecting piece 35 is provided within a vertical part 34a of the paper sheets feeding direction guide member 34, and a microswitch 39 is arranged on an inner wall surface of the paper sheets feeding direction guide member 34 opposite to the tip part of the operating part 35a. When the number of paper sheets 29 is larger than the specified value, the microswitch remains in the OFF condition. When the paper sheets 29 are fed and the number of the paper sheets reaches the specified value, the microswitch is turned ON.
