To improve input performance for paper sheets, to increase the storing capacity, and to mechanically align paper sheets without any increase in size of a casing.
This paper sheet storing device includes: a box-shaped paper sheet inputting frame body, which is provided on one side of the casing having a paper sheet storing part to be freely opened and closed, and adapted to input the paper sheets in its open state; a carrying means for carrying the paper sheets to be fed into the paper sheet input frame body to a paper sheet storing part in the closed state of the paper sheet input frame body; and a paper sheet aligning means for aligning the paper sheets in the closed state of the paper sheet input frame body. The paper sheet aligning means includes: a vibration applying member, which is rotated with eccentricity to the carrying direction of the paper sheet on the opposite side to a paper sheet delivery port to apply vibration in the height direction of the casing to one long side end part; and a pressing member for pressing the other long side of the paper sheet within the range of vibration applied to the paper sheet by the vibration applying member.
