To provide a paper tray support structure capable of giving suitable friction force when the paper tray is turned between a storage position and a release position and not increasing the number of parts of the paper tray and the assembling man-hour.
A rotation shaft 17 for connecting both sides 11 of the paper tray 1 and a paper tray retaining part 21; a guide groove 22 provided on the paper tray retaining part 21 and formed to an approximately circular arc shape making an axis of the rotation shaft 17 as a center; a pair of arms 15 projected from both sides of the paper tray 1 in parallel to a normal direction of the paper placement surface of the paper tray 1; and an engagement projection 16 projected from a distal end of the arm toward the guide groove 22 and sliding while pressing a groove bottom of the guide groove 22 accompanying with action for rotating the paper tray 1 are provided. A first projection 27 and a second projection 25 for making the paper tray 1 stand still at the storage position and the release position by engaging with the engagement projection 16 are provided on the groove bottom of the guide groove 22.
