PURPOSE: To provide a parallel flow interrupting down-comer separation tray having high tray efficiency by providing down-comers having taking-in openings and liquid sealable taking-out-openings, a plurality of multi-down-comer-type vapor-liquid contact trays and a means which is inclined so that two down- comer baffles of each down-comer can transport liquid to an other tray deck.
CONSTITUTION: A parallel flow interrupting down-comer separation tray comprises a down-comers 10 each of which is constituted of two opposite side walls 4 and two end walls 6 shorter than the side walls and has a taking-in- opening and a liquid sealable taking-out-opening, a plurality of multi-down- comer-type vapor-liquid contact trays 2 and a means which is inclined so that two down-comer baffles of each down-comer 10 can transport liquid to an other tray deck 11. Thereby high tray efficiency can be achieved by achieving the advantage of a case flow by Lewis and by providing a longer average liquid pass through the tray deck.
