The parallel light solar simulator 10 irradiates a solar cell with the parallel light and measures its output characteristics, and includes a paraboloid mirror 15 having a principal axis Lp parallel to an axis orthogonal to a light reception surface 18 of the solar cell 17, and a light source 11 disposed apart from a focus F of the paraboloid mirror 15 to be at a position equivalent to the focus F. The light emitted by the light source 11 disposed at the position equivalent to the focus F is reflected by the paraboloid mirror 15 to become the parallel light of high precision and to irradiate the light reception surface 18 of the solar cell 17 with the parallel light.
