To provide an artificial joint device which realizes a prosthetic limb allowing twisting motions without using a driving source and achieves the reduction of the size and the cost when using the driving source, and to provide a parallel link mechanism which can realize the artificial joint device.
The artificial joint device 2 for an ankle joint of a prosthetic leg 1 is equipped with the parallel link mechanism 10 to connect between a foot part 3 and an attachment plate 4a. The parallel link mechanism 10 is equipped with a fixed link 11, having the upper end part secured to the attachment plate 4a and the lower end part connected to the foot part 3 through a ball joint 12, and four extending/retracting links 13 having the upper and lower end parts connected to the foot part 3 and to the attachment plate 4a respectively through upper and lower ball joints 14a, 14b.
