Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect pictures with high accuracy and with no loss of information, by providing the windows in front of an optical fiber by a photoetching process and receiving the light transmitted through these windows at the optical fiber and leading the light to a photomultiplier, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The optical fibers 22 are set on two lines and zigzag with no gap, and a plate 25 containing windows 23 and 24 is provided in front of the fibers 22. In this case, the lateral gap between the windows 23 and 24 is set at zero. As a result, the detection of pictures is possible without loosing the information on real picture images. The light passed actually through the windows 23 and 24 is received at the fibers 22 and then led to photomultipliers (not shown in the diagram) set at the tip of the fibers 22 respectively. In such way, the reel picture images can be detected with high accuracy with no loss of information and with a reduced loss of light.
