To provide a parking assist system capable of certainly setting a parking object position and performing parking assistance with sufficient position detection accuracy.
The parking assist system detects the present position of an automobile 34 at high accuracy by a present position detection device 31 corresponding to a position detection system having accuracy of sub-meter class or more. When it is determined that the automobile 34 approaches to any one of the parking positions registered in a position information database 26, a parking ECU 22 is constituted such that it sets the parking position as the parking object position and the automobile 34 is guided to the parking object position set as a target by a driver based on the present position of the automobile 34 and azimuth of the automobile obtained by an azimuth sensor 32.
